This study examines how nitrogen (N) enrichment and the fungal endophyte Epichloë amarillans affect plant traits in a nutrient-poor sand dune. Findings reveal that while N enrichment alters plant size and leaf area, increasing productivity, the presence of Epichloë mitigates impacts on root traits, suggesting significant community-level effects beyond its host, Ammophila breviligulata.
This study examines the primary fungi involved in the fermentation of Huangjiu, a traditional Chinese rice wine. Noteworthy species include Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus spp., among others. The findings underscore the potential of these fungi to enhance fermentation processes, improving the beverage's flavor profile and overall quality, thereby offering new avenues for optimizing Huangjiu production through targeted microbiome synthetic approaches.
This study introduces an eco-friendly synthesis of copper ferrite nanoparticles (CuFe2O4 NPs) using Pleurotus florida extract. Characterized by multiple techniques, these NPs show significant antibacterial and antioxidant activities, and efficiently degrade dyes. This highlights potential applications in biomedical and environmental fields.
This study investigates silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) functionalized with a mebeverine analogue (MA) for combating gut microbiota imbalance and fungal infections. The AgNPs demonstrated significant antifungal activity against Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Fusarium species, as well as Candida and Saccharomyces yeasts, while preserving MA's anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic properties. Further in vivo studies are needed to confirm these findings.
